Enlisted at Leicester. Home address given as Loughborough, Leicestershire. Served with the 2nd Bn in World War One. Sick to hospital 1.6.1915, and rejoined his Company 13.6.1915. He was killed in action 25.9.1915, aged 26. He is commemorated on the Memorial, France. His First World War campaign medals, memorium plaque and documents are in the collection of Leicester City Museums
