Biography :

Enoch McDonald enlisted on 28.7.1934, and joined 1st Bn The Leicestershire Regiment in India. Promoted Lance Corporal 1.8.1937 and Corporal 15.11.1938. Listed as Lance Sergeant in 1941. Served in the Malaya campaign, and was taken Prisoner of War in Singapore on 15.2.1942. He was awarded the D.C.M. for his actions as Sergeant Platoon Commander, 1st Leicesters, Kampar, Malaya, 1-3 Jan 1942 (L.G. 13.12.1945). Among other places he was incarcerated at Banpong Camp under Colonel Pargiter from 25.6.1942 to 15.11.1942. He was released as a POW in 1945. On photo he is 4th row, 1st right.
He died in 1991, aged 79 years.
