Biography :

Enlisted at Leicester. Served with the 8th Battalion during World War One. Died in France and Flanders campaign 28.3.1916. He is buried at Le Souich Churchyard, Pas de Calais, France.

Further Info: Enlisted in Royal Leicester Regiment, No 18973. Later he was a Pioneer in Royal Engineers, No 128649. Died of accidental wounds received while in training in France. He was receiving nstruction in the use of Lewis Gun and was accidently shot by the instructor. An enquiry in the field took place the next day - this information is in his war record.
