Home address given as Blackfordby. Enlisted at Loughborough, Leicestershire on 20.8.1915. Served with 1/5th Bn in World War One. Died of wounds in France and Flanders campaign 8.8.1916, age 21. He is buried at Warlincourt Halte British Cemetery, Saulty, Pas de France.

A photo of his grave is on display next to the war memorial in St Margarets church, Blackfordby.
