Home address given as Barnetby, Lincolnshire. Enlisted 15.5.1930. Member of the 1st Bn football team, winners of the De Montmorency tournament and Lahore District tournament, 1934. Transferred to 'A' Reserve 9.12.1937. Later served with 2nd Bn in World War Two. Was awarded M.M. (see London Gazette, 31.10.1941, p.6458) for his actions on 20th and 25th May 1941 in Crete during World War Two.
