Home address given as Hinckley. George Lovell enlisted at London in 1910. Promoted to Lance Corporal 12.4.1913. Served during World War One, entering France in 1st Bn on 9.9.1914. He was Mentioned in Despatches for gallantry on 10.9.1915, near Weljte, Ypres, Belgium. Killed in Action near Gueudecourt, the Somme, France on 15.9.1916, aged 22. Awarded the M.M. (London Gazette 27.10.1916, page 10481). He was buried at Guillemont Road Cemetery, Guillemont, Somme, France.
